Panasonic's new Varicam hits the market!
Panasonic has introduced two new P2 HD VariCam HD Cinematography cameras that combine the best of solid-state recording and film-like operation to produce the distinct and beautiful ”film look” that cinematographers desire. Building on VariCam’s successful foundation, we’re excited to debut the VariCam 3700 and VariCam 2700. These all-new, next-generation VariCam implementations feature native HD 2/3” imagers with premium-quality optics. They offer master-quality, full resolution, 10-bit 4:2:2 AVC-Intra 100 recording, 24fps operation, variable frame rates and shutter speeds, CineGamma ™ mode, and the incomparable benefits of P2 HD solid-state acquisition assure a fast, ultra-reliable, file-based workflow in any shooting environment. AVC-Intra 100 is 10-bit, full raster, 4:2:2, designed for the highest quality applications from acquisition to editing to archiving.
